About Us

Federation of Families, Miami-Dade Chapter Inc., founded in 2010, is a 501c3 nonprofit organization t hat provides peer support, education and guidance to families of children and youth with emotional, behavioral, substance abuse and mental health needs. We collaborate with other organizations to improve mental health and substance abuse services in a manner that is responsive to the cultural diversity of our community.

The Youth & Family Center

 

Located in  Miami Gardens, The Youth & Family Center is a haven for the South  Florida community and the home of Federation of Families. FOF’s focus is  to provide enrichment activities  and training at the Center that will improve the wellness of  participants and instill self-care strategies that can be practiced at  home. The Center activities also serve to create peer relationships and  an enjoyable place to unwind and visit.  All activities are free and posted on the monthly Calendar. Organization of the Year

  

Federation of Families was awarded the Organization of the Year RockStar Award at the 2015 National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health Conference in Washington, D.C. The honor is awarded to organizations who support youth-guided programs. Thank you to the Youth M.O.V.E. National Board of Directors; we hope to continue our efforts in sustaining programs by young people for young people!
